The NC General Assembly has made $35 million in cuts to the financial aid awarded to NC residents who attend private schools.
Beginning 2012-13, the following grant and scholarship programs will no longer be available:
- NC Legislative Tuition Grant
- NC Contractual Scholarship Fund
- NC Lottery Scholarship
There will now be the North Carolina Need Based Scholarship (NCNBS) program. However, Funds will be awarded on a first come, first served basis.
How to apply:
We encourage all North Carolina students to complete your FAFSA as soon as possible after January 1, 2013.
- Apply online at www.fafsa.gov.
- You may estimate your tax data.
- We will send you a follow-up, if we need additional information.
