Promoting Scholarship and Creative Work
The Chowan University Student Research Conference—CUSRC, as it is known—is now in its eighteenth year of providing students across the disciplines an opportunity to showcase their work. This year 144 students are making 139 presentations on Tuesday, April 19, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in Marks Hall and Briley Recital Hall, Daniel Hall. A luncheon for presenters, faculty sponsors, moderators, judges, and organizers is scheduled for 12 noon in Thomas Dining Hall. The keynote speaker is Dr. W Scott Poole, Professor of History at the College of Charleston. Poole is the author of several histories, including The Palmetto State, Never Surrender, and South Carolina’s Civil War. The CUSRC and luncheon is sponsored by the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies and the North Carolina Phi Chapter of the Alpha Chi Honor Society.
