Bradford Lance Jenkins Honored with Young Alumnus Award at Chowan University
On Saturday, October 11, Bradford Lance Jenkins received the Young Alumnus Award during the Alumni and Friends Luncheon at Chowan University. The Young Alumnus Award is bestowed each year on a recent Chowan graduate who has truly excelled in his or her chosen profession; has made a significant contribution to our society through his or her work or volunteer efforts; or who, as one of our alumni, has in some way brought honor to Chowan University or assisted the University in its mission of furthering Christian higher education.
A native of Jackson, North Carolina, Bradford Lance Jenkins graduated from Chowan University in 2009 with a B.S. in History. Upon graduation, he worked at Chowan as an Admission Counselor while simultaneously completing a Master of Public Administration degree through Norwich University. In 2010 he began work in the public sector with a managerial role in the Parks and Recreation Department for the City of Roanoke Rapids. He later served as Main Street Director for the Roanoke Avenue Business Alliance before working as an agent for the North Carolina Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Group in Conway, North Carolina. Mr. Jenkins now works as an agent in the Onslow County Farm Bureau office in Jacksonville, North Carolina and owns and operates Lance Jenkins Marketing, a consultation firm that provides website development and marketing solutions to small businesses and non-profit organizations.
Mr. Jenkins is married to Sarah Beth Barmer, a 2012 graduate of Chowan. They are proud advocates in support of homeless pet shelters and are also parents to two dogs and two cats. They all live in Jacksonville, NC.
