Hawks Open Competition at SCAD Invitational
SAVANNAH, GA- The Chowan University women's swim team opened competition at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) Invitational on Thursday. The Hawks stand in 9th place in the 12 team field after compiling a team score of 35. Wingate University leads the field with a team score of 430.
In the 200 yard medley relay, Chowan's Julia Chmielewska, Sarah Hull, Megan Reid, and SheAyre Bowles finished in 12th place out of 23 teams. The squad posted a time of 1:56.46. Keitra Lloyd grabbed a 21st place finish in the 500 freestyle. She posted a time of 5:39.65 in the 33-swimmer field. Chmielewska completed the 200 IM in 2:14.63; good for a 20th finish. Hull also swam in the event for the Hawks. She finished in 2:44.21.
Kenya McCray earned 13 points for the Chowan Blue and White in the 50-yard freestyle. She finished in sixth place in the field of 58 with a time of 24.32. Boyles followed in 13th place with a time of 24.91. Reid touched the wall at the 26.20 mark and in 30th place individually in the same event.
Lloyd, McCray, Reid and Hull grabbed eight points in the 800 freestyle with a time of 8:45.09 and 13th place finish.
