Student Success Points
The Student Success Points focus on key academic achievements in each semester. These achievements include gateway courses, credit hour accumulation, progress toward completion of general education requirements, academic performance, progress in major courses, etc. Students are assigned a point for a specific academic achievement. Points are accumulated.
A success point is intended to be a measure of progress or a milestone with very specific goals. Accomplishing each goal in a timely fashion is designed to guide the student to the next step. Linked together, the goals create a chain of accomplishments that propels the student toward degree completion.
The advisors, success coaches, academic advising coordinator, and administrators will use the success points as a guide to help students find and stay on their path to success.
