 For your convenience here’s a checklist to help expedite your Admissions process:

  • Complete your Application for Admission.
  • Submit your high school transcripts.
  • Submit your official college transcripts from every college or university you’ve attended.
  • You will be notified of an admissions decision within 72 hours once we receive all of your required documents.   An official acceptance letter will be sent via U.S. Mail.

Important Applicant Reminders: 

  • Beginning October 1st, you should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
  • If you need assistance, contact the Chowan University Financial Aid Office at finaid@chowan.edu or call us toll-free at 1-888-4-CHOWAN.
  • Chowan University’s school code is 002916. You will need this when completing your FAFSA! Federal financial aid is awarded on a “first come, first served” basis, so do not delay.
  • Keep a copy of your most up-to-date income tax return in case you are selected for verification.
  • Pay your $100 Advanced Tuition Deposit, which secures your financial aid awards and scholarships, your place at Student Orientation Advising and Registration (SOAR), and your room in the Residence Hall.
