Chowan night at Lionsbridge Football Club
Lionsbridge Football Club (soccer) is the USL League Two. It is the premiere Community-Driven Soccer Team on the Virginia Peninsula and features affordable family entertainment. Lionsbridge has the ability to clinch the Coastal Virginia Challenge Cup for a sixth straight year. Last year’s team competed for the national championship and finished second place in the nation.
Chowan University is embedded in the Lionsbridge FC with Chris Whalley (CU’s Head Men’s Coach) as the Head Coach. Two of Lionsbridge’s assistant coaches are from CU: Fernando Zuniga (CU’s Head Women’s Coach) and Rich Dearle (CU’s Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach). Former CU players on the Lionsbridge
team are: Harri Lovett, Sam Hall (captain), and Josh Baker. Gabriel King, a Chowan Sports Management major, serves as an intern for Lionsbridge.
$25.00 per person (includes $10 food token for purchasing from food trucks); 6 and under free. CU gathering at 6:15 p.m.
