"I love Chowan! In high school, I was considered the average student, but when I became a Chowan student I used it as a fresh start. I became part of clubs, a part of residence life, and honor societies that I would have never pictured being in. I grew so much being here at Chowan, I love who I’ve become and I definitely give Chowan credit, they’ve helped me along the way!"
Advice from De'Srea: Never doubt yourself. You never know where you’ll go in life; keep the faith and trust God, because he is in control. Everything happens for a reason!
Favorite spot on campus: The swing by the gazebo is my favorite spot because it's a refreshing location to relax after class, between classes, or even for lunch.
Favorite college memory: My favorite memory is meeting some of my favorite people while being a resident assistant and an undergraduate resident director. I loved being a helping hand when students felt lonely or homesick. Being away from home freshman year is different but having a resident assistant by your side makes it a lot easier.
Favorite Chowan memory: My favorite Chowan memory is when I finished my undergraduate classes in December 2018. I was no longer considered a student and was blessed to be offered a job in admissions! It was an amazing feeling to walk across the stage in May 2019 to receive my diploma!
