I love Chowan because it's home! Strangers became friends and friends became family. Without the love and support from the Chowan community, I would not be who I am today. I am beyond blessed to have graduated and work for a university who has faith in every student's future!
Advice from Rodney: Be a well-rounded student! Set high standards for yourself academically and socially. Get to know everyone: faculty, staff, and students. Get involved with what you love! Take responsibility. Have fun and enjoy your college experience!
Favorite spot on campus: My favorite spot on campus is the sidewalk in the middle of Squirrel Park. From here you can see up the middle of the park to the historic Columns Building (which was the original school, built-in 1853). While many things on campus have grown and changed, the park and Columns Building remain the historic center of campus.
Best college memory: My favorite college memory is making the Presidents List! I couldn't believe, me, an average high school student made all A's during my college career. My long nights of studying, late-night trips to the campus computer labs, and extra hours in the library really paid off!
Best Chowan memory: Graduation! I love seeing families from all over the world come together to celebrate the success of their loved-one. The graduates are students I witness grow from a shy new student to a successful young adult.
